Here is an excerpt from Gary Craig’s EFT Manual  © copyright Gary Craig 2004; pg. 65: The Personal Peace Procedure that I’m about to unfold for you is not just a way to “feel a little more peaceful.” Properly understood, this technique should be the healing centerpiece for every person on earth. Every physician, therapist, spiritual counselor, and personal performance coach in the world should be using it as a leading tool for helping others (and themselves). In essence, the Personal Peace Procedure involves making a list of bothersome SPECIFIC EVENTS in one’s life, and systematically EFTing their inpacts out of existence. This, of course, propels each individual toward personal peace, which, in turn, contributes mightily toward world peace. Here are some uses: 1) As “homework” between sessions with a therapist. This is certain to accelerate and deepen the healing process. 2) As a daily procedure to clear out a lifetime of accumulated emotional debris. This will enhance self-image, reduce self-doubt, and provide a profound sense of freedom. 3) As a means to eliminate a major contributor (if not the sole cause) of a serious disease. Somewhere within one’s specific events are those angers, fears, and traumas that are manifesting as disease. 4) As a useful substitute for finding core issues. If you neutralize all the specific issues, you will have automatically included core issues. 5) As a means for consistent relaxation. 6) To become an example to others as to what is possible. From Linda FP: Gary’s recommendation went on to instruct the person (you) to make a list of EVERY bothersome event in your entire life, which would be a list of hundreds of unsettling events. I find it easier and more effective to start with a much smaller list! I recommend making a list of 10 bothersome memories (specific events), and when you have successfully neutralized (healed) your first list of 10, then make another list of 10. With each list of 10, begin by naming each incident – giving each two-minutes-or-less movie a brief working title – and then listing and rating the emotions that surface today for each title. (If you have taken my Basic Workshop, then you know what I’m saying here.) Next, pick one incident / title from your list --- it doesn’t really matter which one you pick to work on; just let your intuition or feelings guide you; sometimes it’s good to pick the highest-intensity-rated event, but not always --- and work it (tap it) to a zero rating. Then, cross it off your list. You will sometimes find that working on one event will remind you of another event that may or may not also be on your list of 10. If the reminded incident is on your list already, you may want to work on that one next. If the reminded incident is not on your list, add it to your list. Yes, it’s okay that now your list may be more than 10 – it won’t be for long. Gary recommended that you work on 1 – 3 issues from your list every day. Of course, that would be ideal and hugely beneficial, so if it is possible for you to do so, I agree with Gary’s recommendation. If working on issues every day is not possible for you, know that any amount of time and effort will bring you your ultimate rewards. I do strongly suggest that you allow yourself at least 20 minutes per session – you may need more or less time, depending on what you are working to heal.
